National and International Centres

Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche (1924- 1996) was a rare teacher and realised master, he inspired many and had a vision of authentic teachings being made available in many countries. His eldest son, Tulku Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, shared this vision and has established several retreat centres throughout the world under the name Rangjung Yeshe Gomde, which can be translated as “Places of Naturally Arising Wisdom.” These organisations are independent but affiliated by common interest and spiritual guidance from Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. Such centres have been established in Austria, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan, Ukraine and the United States. They have benefited many people by facilitating teaching and meditation seminars and working to preserve the teachings and practice of Tibetan Buddhism. They have a membership of thousands of interested people. A web search of “Rangjung Yeshe Gomde” shows the activities and progress of the groups.

Rangjung Yeshe Welfare Work

Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen
Shenpen was founded as a non-profit social work organization by Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche in 2004. The transliterated meaning of Shenpen comes from two Tibetan words: Shen (others) and phen (to benefit). Our purpose is therefore to ‘benefit others’. When H.E. Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche first arrived in Nepal more than forty years ago, he was deeply struck by the great kindness shown to the newly arrived Tibetan refugees by the Nepalese people. They warmly opened their arms and helped the exiled Tibetans build new lives. Since then, Rinpoche has worked tirelessly to benefit the poor and needy of Nepal. The organisation’s vision is that all poor and disadvantaged people of Nepal, especially the very young, very old and displaced, enjoy good health, a sound education, financial security and are able to meet their full human and spiritual potential. This social work activity involves members, friends, and associates of Rangjung Yeshe worldwide.
