Woodland Management Plan

 Land Management

This year as part of our commitment to the environment we hope to commission an in depth woodland management plan. This will enable us to harvest wood from the estate sustainably and thereby, in the long term, contribute to our heating and hot water needs, save money, and maintain the environment for our rare and diverse flora, fauna and beings!

The plan will be created by professional forestry team using the Forestry Commission woodland management plan template and guidelines which is for a 10 year plan. This will include advice on rotation so the plan will be the basis for long term management of our timber and woodland. It will include felling licence permissions required and all searches (protected species/ statutory designations etc), consultation with relevant stakeholders and a full work operations plan. Mensuration (measuring trees) will also be carried out where needed to inform the felling work operations and felling licence application.

The management plan costs approximately £4,000 if you would like to support this environmentally sustainable initiative please make a donation through our home page.
